🛒 Ordering & Process
How do I place an order? +
Browse our template library, select the form that fits your needs, and configure your specs (size, parts, ink, quantity, add-ons). Add your logo and contact details, then proceed to checkout. Once your order is placed and paid, our team will prepare an electronic proof and email it to you within 1–2 business days.
Can I see a proof before you print? +
Yes — and for online-designed orders, you're already seeing it. Our web2print designer shows a live preview of exactly what will be printed as you build your job. Click the preview button at any time to see a high-resolution PNG that matches what comes off the press. For complex jobs we can also email a PDF proof, or invite you in to review a hard-proof at our front counter in Edson — just let us know when you place the order.
How long does the whole process take? +
Most jobs are in production within hours of order — typical turnaround is 2–3 business days, and orders you design online in our web2print designer can often go straight to print and be ready for pickup the same day. Shipping is typically 1–3 business days by courier. So most customers receive their forms within 4–6 business days from order placement. Rush options are usually available — call us if you have a tight deadline.
How do I reorder a form I've already ordered before? +
It's simple. Call us at 1-780-723-3222 or email owner@trailprint.ca with your previous order number. We'll pull up your approved artwork on file and process the reorder quickly — no need to go through the customizer again. You can still make changes if needed.
Do I need an account to order? +
No account is required to place an order. However, creating an account lets you view past orders, reorder quickly, and save your artwork on file for future use.
🖨️ Printing & Quality
What is NCR carbonless paper? +
NCR stands for "No Carbon Required." Carbonless paper is coated with micro-encapsulated dye that transfers impressions from one sheet to the next when written or typed on. A 2-part NCR set produces two copies, a 3-part produces three, and so on. It's the standard for invoices, work orders, receipts, and any document where you need multiple copies without messy carbon paper.
What's the difference between NCR and card stock? +
NCR carbonless forms are multi-part sets (2, 3, or 4 copies per use) — ideal when you need to leave a copy with a customer and keep one for your records. Card stock forms are single-copy, printed on heavier 65 lb. stock — ideal for durable documents like FLHA cards, daily inspection sheets, and ID cards that need to survive field use.
What ink colours are available? +
We offer four ink options: Black ink only (most popular and cost-effective), 2-colour (black + one spot colour), 3-colour (black + two spot colours), and full-colour digital (CMYK, ideal for logo-heavy designs). Black ink is sufficient for the vast majority of form printing.
Can I get different colours on different parts of a multi-part NCR set? +
Yes — one of our specialties is colour-sequenced NCR sets. For example, white top copy, yellow second copy, pink third copy. This makes it easy to identify which copy belongs to which party. Call us to discuss colour sequence options as pricing will vary.
🚚 Shipping & Delivery
How does shipping work? +
We ship via courier to all regularly serviceable Canadian addresses. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on order size and destination. Most major cities receive delivery within 1–3 business days after dispatch. Remote or fly-in communities may require additional charges — call us if you're unsure about your address.
Where do you ship? +
We ship Canada-wide to every province and territory — including the Northwest Territories and remote and Indigenous communities that traditional shops won't reliably serve. Orders ship via courier from our facility in Edson, Alberta. Most major centres receive delivery within 1–3 business days after dispatch; remote destinations may take a few days longer.
Do you ship to the United States? +
Currently, we ship within Canada only. If you have a special requirement for US delivery, call us and we'll do our best to help.
Can I get my order rushed? +
Rush production may be available depending on our current workload. Call us at 1-780-723-3222 before placing your order to discuss timelines — we'll do our best to accommodate urgent requests.
💰 Pricing
Are there setup fees or plate charges? +
No — never. We run an all-digital workflow, so there are no plate charges, no setup fees, and no minimums. The checkout price is the complete total. The only exception is jobs that require custom dies, which we don't do in-house yet — for those we'll quote separately.
Do you offer volume discounts? +
Yes — our pricing is volume-tiered, so the per-unit cost drops significantly as quantity increases. Ordering 250 sets instead of 50 can save you up to 69% per unit. Our price calculator shows real-time pricing for all quantity levels so you can find the sweet spot for your budget.
Can I get a custom quote for large or unusual orders? +
Absolutely. For large volumes (5,000+ sets), unusual sizes, special binding, or multiple form types in a single order, call us at 1-780-723-3222 or email owner@trailprint.ca. We'll provide a firm written quote.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and ACH bank transfers — all processed securely through Stripe. We also offer Net-30, Net-60, and Net-90 invoicing for established business and oilfield service accounts (terms depend on the industry — oilfield contracts typically follow industry-standard schedules). Contact us at owner@trailprint.ca to set up an invoicing relationship.
🎨 Custom Design & Artwork
Can I upload my own design? +
Yes — we accept print-ready artwork in PDF, AI, EPS, TIF (300 dpi+), or JPG (300 dpi+) formats. Set your file to CMYK colour mode, 300 dpi resolution, and include 0.125" bleed where the design bleeds to the edge. Convert all fonts to outlines. Visit our Print Your Design page for full specifications.
Do you offer design services? +
Yes. If you need a form designed from scratch or have a rough sketch you'd like turned into a professional layout, our design team can help. We charge a flat fee based on form complexity. Email owner@trailprint.ca with your requirements for a quick quote.
What if I don't have a logo? +
No problem. You can use a text-only header with your company name and contact details. If you'd like a professional logo or header created, our design team can provide that as well — email us to ask.
Can you match my existing form exactly? +
In most cases, yes. If you have an existing form you'd like us to replicate or update, scan it and send it to us along with any changes. Our prepress team will recreate it and send a proof for your approval before printing. Call us to discuss your specific needs.
🏠 About Trail Print Ltd
Where are you located? +
We're a family-owned print shop in Edson, Alberta, currently at 1539 - 63 Street (T7E 1S2). We're in the process of relocating to a newly-renovated heritage building at 310 50th Street, Edson AB T7E 1V6 — main street, between the highways, next to the Cinema. The new location is part of revitalizing a historic Edson building that would otherwise be lost. Move expected within the next 3 months. Read more on our About page.
How long has Trail Print been around? +
Trail Print was founded in 1974 by Christian Knud Bryldt as Trail Printing Ltd. The shop has been continuously family-owned and operated for over 50 years, currently in its third generation. Christian's son Shawn Bryldt took over as owner in 2025, and Shawn's son Brett also works at the shop. We're rebranding to Trail Print Ltd as part of an ownership transition tied to our move and our new mission.
Are you really Indigenous-owned? +
Yes — Trail Print Ltd is in the process of transitioning ownership to Melissa Bryldt, who is Indigenous and is leading our mission to bring affordable printing and shipping to remote and underserved communities across Canada — especially Indigenous communities and the Northwest Territories. Our family ties to the North inform how we serve customers traditional shops can't reach. Read more on our About page.
What are your hours? +
Our front counter is open Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Mountain Time. We're closed on weekends and Canadian statutory holidays. Online orders can be placed any time and we process them on the next business day.
